LabVIEW and Radiohead
by Alessandro Ricco

A frame of my video. I like the effect, remember me the creations of Antonio Pedretti
If you still never heard this news : Radiohead released a video for its song “House of Cards” from the album “In Rainbows”.
No cameras or lights were used. Instead two technologies were used to capture 3D images: Geometric Informatics and Velodyne LIDAR.
Radiohead decide to release ad “open source” part of the data captured from the laser and used for making the video, so anyone can use it to make a brand new custom video.
So i decide to put my hand on the data and make my own video using pure LabVIEW software… hope you like it!
If you manage to create a data visualization that you’d wish to share, the band would love to see it. You can share your videos on the House of Cards YouTube group.
The Code
But how to create this in LabVIEW?
Ok very very simple you’ll see downloading the code here radiohead_lidar_video_labview_code
Instructions directly inside the VIs, made with LabVIEW8.5
